About
.Hi,
Welcome to my blog Defensive Cyling. My name’s Paul and I live in Leeds in the North of England. I’ve been cycling for over thirty years. I use my bike to commute and for training and pleasure. I set up the Defensive Cycling blog to explore ways that we cyclists can stay safe on the roads. I’m a firm believer that training and knowledge are crucial to ensuring cyclists stay safe on the roads.
As Cycling is gaining in popularity and more and more people take to the roads it’s more important than ever that we come up with cycling stratergies to ensure the safety of cyclists. This includes educating drivers that cyclists are not a nusiance but a legitimate road user who should be afforded respect. It also includes educating cyclists of their responsibilities while on the road.
Cycling is great fun and I see only benefits to it, it has no negative impact on health or environment and it’s a great way to get around. Experienced cyclists have a responsibilty to pass on our knowledge and help to educate people new to cycling on ways they can stay safe while enjoying cycling. The mission of this blog is to look at ways to ensure the safety of cyclists while on the road.
I welcome articles and posts from cyclists who wish to share their own advice and experiences on staying safe and any other other cycling tips you may have. If you’ve got a cycling blog and would like to exchange links then please contact me.
I hope you enjoy the blog.
Paul
